Roof Sketch

Sketch a Roof and Send It to Instant Report

When you do not have a Hover or EagleView file, sketch the standing seam roof from a scale drawing or reference image, validate the geometry, and generate a panel-level report in minutes.

Best When There Is No Measurement File

File import is still the fastest path when you have Hover ESX/XML or EagleView XML/JSON. The sketch path is for jobs where you have a plan, sketch, image, or field measurements and still need a standing seam report without rebuilding the job in a spreadsheet.

Need the handoff requirements? Read the Sketch scale and handoff guide.

Start from a scale drawing

Use a scale drawing, blueprint, or reference image when possible. Calibrating the sketch gives the report reliable panel lengths and trim quantities.

Draw facets and edges

Create roof facets, label edges such as eave, ridge, hip, valley, rake, and headwall, and set pitch for each roof plane.

Resolve validation before handoff

Validation helps catch missing scale, missing pitch, unknown edges, open endpoints, topology issues, and unresolved slope direction before the roof becomes a report.

Send to Instant Report

Once the sketch is ready, send it into Instant Report for billing, report calculation, material order, and PDF export.

The Sketch Becomes the Report Source

The sketch app is the supported sketch entry point for Instant Reports: draw the roof, confirm the required measurements and roof details, then hand the roof model to Instant Report.

The report can then support material ordering, production planning, client conversations, and insurance estimate supplements with panel lengths, trim quantities, material order information, and a PDF export.

Start with a file when you have one. Sketch the roof when you do not.
